CONSTITUTION OF THE ALLIANCE BALSA BEES
MODELING ASSOCIATION, INC.
ARTICLE I
NAME
Section 1 - The name of the club shall be the Alliance Balsa Bees, Inc.
ARTICLE II
PURPOSE
Section 1 - The purpose of the club shall be to promote all phases of modeling, particularly model aircraft flying and building of sport, hobby and education stimulus.
ARTICLE III
MEMBERSHIP
Section 1 - Membership is open to any interested party with current AMA membership.
Section 2 - Junior members must be under eighteen years of age.
Section 3 - Senior members must be eighteen years of age or older at the time of membership. All Senior memberships are Household memberships.
Section 4 - Guests may use the field two times prior to joining the club provided they hold a current AMA membership and a Balsa Bee member is with them.
Section 5 - Dues:
a. Family Membership: $60.00 per year. First year assessment: $15.00
b. Junior Memberships: $5.00 per year. No assessment.
c. First year membership dues paid after September 1 are credited for the next full year.
d. One half of dues must be paid by February 1 with the balance paid in full by June 1. Failure to pay dues will result in forfeit of dues paid and membership will be filled from the waiting list.
e. Joining the club after absence of one year or more constitutes new membership.
ARTICLE IV
OFFICERS
Section 1 - President: The President shall arrange the agenda and preside at all meetings. He shall appoint all committees. He shall coordinate the duties of all officers and committees. He shall be an ex officio member of all committees.
Section 2 - Vice-President: In the absence of the President, his duties shall be performed by the Vice-President. The Vice-president shall be responsible for programming and coordinating all social events. All social and special events must be approved by vote of the club.
Section 3 - Secretary: The Secretary shall keep accurate minutes of all meetings. He shall attend to all club correspondence. He shall keep an up-to-date list of all members and record attendance at all meetings.
Section 4 - Treasurer: The Treasurer shall maintain all financial records of the club, collect dues and dispense money to pay bills. All bills for maintenance and improvements of the flying field, shall be paid throughout the field manager. A Treasures' report shall be presented at all meetings.
Section 5 - Field Manager: The Field Manager shall be responsible for the improvements and maintenance of the flying site.
ARTICLE V
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Section 1 - All Officers shall be elected at the November meeting to serve for one year starting January 1.
Section 2 - Nominations for all Officers shall come from the floor.
ARTICLE VI
COMMITTEES
Section 1 - Committees of the club shall be standing and special and with the exception of the Executive Board, shall be appointed by the President.
Section 2 - The Executive Committee shall consist of all Officers of the club. It shall investigate any violation of the Constitution and recommend a course of action regarding the conduct of status of the violating club member.
Section 3 - A contest committee will be appointed to coordinate the planning of any major contests.
ARTICLE VII
MEETINGS
Section 1 - Regular meetings shall be scheduled monthly on a regular day and time. If a regular meeting date or time is changed, all members shall be notified by the Secretary prior to the scheduled/revised date or time. The President must approve all changes.
Section 2 - A special meeting may be called by any member. The date and time must be approved by the President. The Secretary will notify all members.
Section 3 - The order of business at regular meetings will be:
1. Attendance - recorded by the Secretary.
2. Reading of the minutes of last meeting.
3. Treasure's report.
4. Announcements.
5. Committee reports.
6. Old business.
7. New business.
8. Adjournment
Section 4 - The order of business at special meetings is open.
Section 5 - The vote of at least two-thirds of attending membership (including written proxy) is required to approve any motion.
ARTICLE VIII
FIELD SAFTY AND COURTESY
Section 1 - All AMA rules shall be adhered to.
Section 2 - Rules for safety and courtesy at the flying site shall be observed by all members and visitors.
Section 3 - Rules will be displayed in a conspicuous place at the flying site and/or distributed to all members.
ARTICLE IX
DISSOLUTION OF CLUB
Section 1 - In the event of dissolution of this club, all claims shall be paid and the remaining assets, if any, shall be used exclusively for charitable or recreational purpose as decided by a majority vote of the total membership of the club.
ARTICLE X
ADOPTIONS AND AMENDMENTS
1. Family membership will include children over eighteen years of age who are still in school or college provided they have AMA insurance.
2. Anyone living out of state wishing to fly at our field may do so provided they have AMA insurance. They will be charged $5.00 a month.
3. The Secretary will be relieved of the newsletter and a newsletter editor will be added.
4. The checking account will be put into a two (2) signature checking account.
5. A family membership will be on the basis of one (1) vote to one (1) family membership.
6. Election date will be changed to the October meeting of each year with the new Officers to take office the first meeting in November.
